What is neat and what's it made of?

Neat is a beverage inspired by Korean soju, made with grape-based distilled spirit, wine and real fruit and botanicals. It’s 13% ABV and is best consumed straight (neat!), or also can be mixed with your favorite seltzers or mixer.

Where's your product made?

Our product is made in the United States, specifically in a craft distillery/winery in Pennsylvania. We work around the clock to ensure that our products are the highest quality and taste great.

Why does neat say 'Grape wine'? Isn't soju a distilled spirit?

Great question! Neat contains a small amount of flavor-extracted grape wine for two reasons: 1) we think it complements the distilled grape spirits that we also use, and 2) this allows us to ship more widespread across the US legally. Traditional soju is a distilled spirit from rice, but nowadays mainstream soju is made from distilled spirits derived from corn, sweet potatoes, barley, and yes grapes too. We designed neat for flavor first, and we hope that it preserves a similar ABV, drinkability and feel of flavored soju but with a modern twist.

Is neat gluten-free, vegan, etc?

Neat is gluten-free and vegan. No artificial flavors, no high fructose corn syrup. Only the good stuff.

Does Neat require refrigeration? How long does Neat last?

Our products do not require refrigeration. However, they will last longer (and we recommend chilling it for peak enjoyment) when refrigerated. If you’ve opened it, we also recommend storing it in the fridge.

Neat tastes best within 3 months without refrigeration. Any longer and we recommend storing it in the fridge.

What is the inspiration behind Neat?

Neat was inspired by our good times drinking flavored Korean soju, introduced by way of our Korean friends. We wanted to adopt the same principles of soju (tasty shots, lower ABV than liquor) but bring our own twist on it with better-for-you ingredients, less sugar, and no artificial ingredients.

Why the name “neat”?

Soju is typically consumed as a shot, and without the need for a chaser, so we wanted to acknowledge that with the neat name!

Who is behind Neat?

Neat is founded by Michael Gu and Perry Ya, two first-generation Asian American friends building a brand that represents Asian American culture in the US.

Why is neat so expensive compared to other soju brands out there?

As a small, fully bootstrapped business that's just starting out, we don't have the economies of scale that larger companies do. This means having to purchase supplies at a higher price. We do not compromise on the quality of ingredients and packaging materials we use and focus on the highest level of quality control we can. We hope this shines through in every package you order, every bottle you open, and every sip you take!

What if my bottles broke on arrival?

Our packaging is designed to withstand the rigors of shipping, wherever you order us to. However, if things went wrong and you received broken bottles, shoot us an email at hello@drinkneat.co and we'll make things right!

How long does it take to ship?

Orders typically ship out the next business day, with the exception of orders placed on Thursday that are not next-day deliveries. This is to avoid having orders sitting in our shipping partners' facilities over the weekend without proper storage consideration. Ground shipping time ranges from 3 biz days (East Coast) to 5 biz days (West Coast).

Do you have a return policy?

Unfortunately we don’t currently offer returns or exchanges due to the nature of our products. If there is an issue, please reach out at hello@drinkneat.co.

Do you ship outside the US?

Not right now, but hopefully some day!

I entered the wrong shipping address!

Sadly, once your order is submitted we cannot change addresses. Neat isn’t responsible for delayed, unclaimed, or returned orders due to incorrect or undeliverable addresses entered by the customer.

Why does my checkout page, order notification emails, and credit card charge say "Mazza"?

Mazza is our fulfillment partner for all Neat Beverages orders. Currently, we are utilizing their checkout platform to comply with operational and regulatory requirements to ship Neat across the country. This is a temporary solution to allow us to operate legally, while delivering the best quality and experience. Thank you for your understanding!
